IRCCS Eugenio Medea - Scientific Section of Association La Nostra Famiglia - participates as a member in the Italian Federation of Universities and Research Institutions for Authentication and Authorization, called IDEM.

The objectives of IDEM are to create and support a framework common to Italian academic and research institutions, for the shared management of access to online resources.
These objectives are achieved by using GARR, the Italian telecommunication network for University and Research, whose main objective is to provide high-performance connectivity and advanced services to the Italian scientific and academic community.
The GARR network is created and managed by the GARR Consortium, a non-profit organization founded with the support of the Ministry of Education, University and Research.
Using the GARR network will allow researchers affiliated to our institution to use innovative applications such as grids and distributed computing, telemedicine, e-learning, multimedia, high-energy physics, radio astronomy, etc. within the limits of profiling that will be assigned to each researcher; the GARR network is connected to all the networks of European and global research and allows teachers, students and researchers to communicate and collaborate with colleagues around the world reliably and efficiently through advanced network services and independent of geographic location.
Interested persons are those who are included in research projects authorized by IRCCS Eugenio Medea.

To allow professionals to use the GARR network applications, a communication of each operator’s data to GARR Consortium is required.

The data are transferred prior individual consent to the Privacy Policy (Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 and subsequent amendments); such consent is collected by the Central Scientific Secretariat.

Professionals affiliated to  IRCCS Eugenio Medea and included in authorized research projects will receive through the Central Scientific Secretariat (MEDEA@BP.LNF.IT) a request for their consent to the Privacy Policy (Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 and subsequent amendments) which is required to send their data to the GARR Consortium.

The Central Scientific Secretariat will guarantee an annual check of all the names of those who have given their consent to the Privacy Policy, in order to update it.

ABOUT THE RELEASE OF USER ATTRIBUTES TO RESOURCES SUPPLIERS

IRCCS E. Medea by this Identity Provider may transmit pieces of identity data (attributes) about the user to the service you want to access, upon the request of the same service provider. Attributes will be transmitted prior individual consent to the Privacy Policy (Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 and subsequent amendments).
Attributes are:

•  necessary to receive the requested service

• strictly limited to necessary information

• processed in the respect of law

The set of information to be transmitted may vary from resource to resource.
This Identity Provider will send to each resource only the information requested.
During the access to a resource, the list of attributes that this Identity Provider will transmit will be clearly shown. You may decide, before sending is carried out, if you consent to such transmission, and access the resource, or if you do not consent to the transmission, and therefore give up the access to the resource.
The following table lists all the information, each identified by an identification name (attribute name), that this Identity Provider may transmit to a resource that requests it.
